What’s orgabits?

10% organic cotton for 100 people

The name“orgabits”was conceived with the goal of contributing bit by bit to the improvement of the global environment through the use of organic cotton .Although organic cotton is produced by farming methods that are people , it currently accounts for less than 1% of global cotton production. This is because organic cotton is relatively expensive, requiring more labor than normal cultivation methods.

TOYOSHIMA & Co., Ltd., which has been engaged in cotton production for more than 170 years since its foundation as a cotton business, started the orgabits project in 2005 to address these issues little by little.

The ultimate goal of orgabits is to increase the percentage of organic cotton production from less than 1% of the world’s cotton production to 10%.In order to achieve this goal , we think it’s important to make organic cotton more accessible, and to distribute it to more people. We don’t limit our products to being 100% organic cotton or compromise on fashion. We combine a minimum of 10% organic cotton with other materials such as wool. If 100 people use 10% organic cotton products, the circle of environmentally conscious individuals will expand more than if just one person uses a 100% organic product. With this mindset , we can do good things for our planet little by little ,bit by bit.
